Hi Marti!
Just found you web page. It's great! I, too am a descendant of AndyJack (as my grandmother called him) and Polly Williams. Fate Smith andNancy Williams were my great grandparents. I have photos of them if youare interested. Also some photos of some of their children. My paternalgrandmother was Fate and Nancy's daughter.
Also, I have - although it is in sorry shape - the letter that Andy Jackwrote to Washington requesting his pension from the Civil War - and acopy of his war records. Now that I have a scanner, maybe I can "cleanup" the letter - received stamped in Washington, D. C. in 1888.
Do you have any idea as to Polly Williams' parents? She was a Williamsbefore she married Andy Jack. Family lore says that someone on grandma'sside had Native American blood, but so far I have not found any in theSmiths - and I'm back to England with them. So, I'm assuming that theIndian must be on the Williams side. Any help with this?
Will be willing to share other info - including the #8 cemetery roster.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Regards,
Augie
